Ambassadors Lab, the studio for innovation and creative technology within Ambassadors, is looking for a full-time SRE based in our Amsterdam HQ.

About the role

Ambassadors Lab is a team of technology enthusiasts working on new products and workflows that change how the creative advertising industry works.

Our key software product and what you’ll be working on – is called Cube, a SaaS-based platform that offers digital asset management, creative collaboration, and creative automation tools used by leading brands and agencies such as Booking.com, Vodafone Ziggo, DDB and 180 Amsterdam.

We’re looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team who will assist in operating and maintaining our SaaS platform. You will monitor, analyze metrics, advise and assist in improving the performance of the platform. We’re a closely knit team where everyone has a large degree of freedom to work independently and provide feedback. We help each other out by supporting ad hoc tasks when needed and by sharing responsibilities.

Day-to-day tasks may include:

  • Keeping an eye on our Kubernetes cluster and making sure everything is running smoothly
  • Helping run, maintain, and improve our CI/CD pipelines
  • Assisting or building tooling yourself, to manage and maintain our infrastructure
  • Improving monitoring and visibility of our systems

About you

  • You are based in the Netherlands
  • You have at least a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related discipline with 3+ years of experience in a similar role building, operating, and improving distributed services
  • You are familiar with internet networking fundamentals and modern network protocols
  • You are eager to learn, ask questions, give and receive feedback, and develop yourself
  • You are willing to take ownership of the systems and infrastructure that supports Cube
  • You have a good understanding of what it means to work with DevOps principles
  • You have experience with Kubernetes or similar orchestration systems, as well as experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, GitOps and systems that enable it like Argo CD and GitLab CI
  • You have experience with containerization (Docker)
  • You have experience with distributed storage technologies such as NFS and Amazon S3
  • You have experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus) and knowledge about querying metrics with PromQL
  • You have a good working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code
  • You have working knowledge of Go, Python, and Bash
  • Ideally you have experience working with cloud providers like GCP
  • You have strong English-speaking skills, and are able to communicate on a professional level to provide clear updates on the development of projects with our international team
