Ambassadors is looking for a Junior System Administrator to join the IT team in Amsterdam.

About the role

Ambassadors is a creative production studio with an international team of over 80 artists, designers, directors, producers and developers who thrive solving today’s creative challenges for brands and agencies.

We work together either remotely, at Ambassadors’ three studios across Amsterdam and New York, or through a hybrid mix of both. This all means smooth connectivity is key, and the Ambassadors IT team is looking for a Junior System Administrator to continue to develop this flexible production environment.

Your key responsibilities will be to resolve connectivity issues, configuring operating systems, and providing immediate support via voice, email, and chat applications to give the Ambassadors team quick and clear answers to IT issues. We’re looking for someone with a proactive, research-driven approach; but the IT team will be available to guide you.

Day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Responding to IT requests and owning issues through to resolution, within agreed time limits
  • Talking end-users through a series of actions, either via phone, email or chat, trouble-shooting issues by asking users targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem
  • Maintaining issue tracking and documentation, and solving issues within reasonable time
  • Ensure all issues and outcomes are properly logged within our ticket management system
  • Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time
  • Preparing and deploying workstations and servers
  • Onboarding and offboarding staff accounts, provisioning hardware, workstation assignment, deployment
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting a variety of technical issues across different operating systems and various applications, hardware and peripherals
  • Escalating unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams
  • Providing prompt and accurate feedback to end-users
  • Document technical knowledge in the internal knowledge base
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on process, procedures and or systems
  • When occasionally needed, providing support after-hours, and assisting during maintenance weekends
  • Maintain personal SLA's

About you

We’re looking for someone interested in developing their IT career with a small and passionate team, who is independent and solutions-driven, and a real hands-on kind of person with a “we’ll fix that” mentality. 

You should also have: 

  • At least one year of experience in IT support, ideally in a creative environment
  • A high level of professionalism and passion for customer service
  • An understanding the importance of asset inventory and how to maintain an organized service desk
  • Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on systems software, applications, hardware, basic networking, and communications
  • A passion for thinking outside the box and helping people
  • Able to help with some occasional heavy lifting of the servers
  • Understanding of support ticket management and tracking
  • Strong customer service, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented, including creating, maintaining and updating IT documentation
  • Video Conferencing troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of audio/video troubleshooting and support preferred, but not required

Nice-to-have experience in:

  • Best practices around information security
  • Administering G Suite and Adobe CC
  • Windows (server) and basic networking troubleshooting
  • Creative software such as Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Deadline Render Farm
  • Exp 2D/3D and Design tools such as Autodesk Maya and Foundry
  • Affinity with Linux distributions
